The Voter Protection Project announces early support of Marine Veteran John Lira in Texas Battleground District
WASHINGTON – The Voter Protection Project (VPP), the largest national PAC focused on electing voting rights champions and holding Republicans accountable for their attacks on the ballot box, issued their first challenger House race endorsement of the 2022 election cycle throwing their early support behind John Lira for Texas’ 23rd Congressional district.
With uncertain district boundaries and a desperate Republican party attempting to obstruct and gerrymander their way back to the majority in 2022, VPP will be investing early on behalf of formidable candidates in battleground districts.

After an $8 million dollar inaugural cycle as an organization, the Voter Protection Project is doubling down for the 2022 cycle and has already endorsed powerhouse candidates Tim Ryan for Senate, Melanie Stansbury running in a special election in NM-01, and Jennifer Carrol Foy for Virginia’s Governor race. VPP has also made early investments to protect the democratic house majority by supporting frontline Democrats that have been crucial allies in the fight to restore integrity to our elections

Founded in 2019, the Voter Protection Project works to confront the architects of voter suppression directly at the ballot box. Following the Supreme Court’s Rucho v. Common Cause ruling, which stated that federal courts cannot regulate partisan gerrymandering, VPP has taken on the fight to defeat voter suppression state-by-state.
