The Voter Protection Project announces support for firefighter, snow plow driver, and union leader Bob Brooks for Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District
SACRAMENTO, CA – The Voter Protection Project (VPP), the nation’s largest PAC dedicated to electing voting rights champions and fighting back against voter suppression, is endorsing Bob Brooks ahead of the Democratic primary in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District, a critical seat Democrats must pick up to flip the House.
“Bob Brooks has demonstrated leadership and a deep commitment to public service throughout his career as a 20-year firefighter, small business owner, and high school varsity baseball coach. He’s not about politics; he’s about results and is building a strong coalition to help him flip this seat in the midterm election,” said Heather Grevenworth, Executive Director of The Voter Protection Project. “We are honored to endorse his campaign and know that voters in this district are sick of career politicians and their business-as-usual approach that’s failing working families. Bob is ready to get to work in Washington and lead on issues that will actually improve the lives of folks in his district and across the country. Let’s win, Coach!”
“I’m honored to be endorsed by the Voter Protection Project. They fight to make sure everyone can vote, and that’s the kind of work I believe in,” said Bob Brooks, candidate for Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District. “Voting rights are a working-class issue. Folks who work hourly jobs, third shifts, or rely on tips often have a hard time getting to the polls. Cutting early voting days, closing polling places, and passing voting restrictions is just another way for the rich and powerful to keep people they don’t want from voting. I’ll always stand up for working people and make sure their voices are heard.”
Last cycle, VPP supported over 30 voting rights champions, including newly elected Senator Ruben Gallego (AZ), Senator Elissa Slotkin (MI), Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), Congresswoman Janelle Bynum (OR-05), and Congressman Josh Riley (NY-19). Without a Democratic majority in Congress, Trump and his MAGA extremists will continue their relentless assault on democracy, chipping away at our most fundamental rights. That’s why VPP is laser-focused on identifying and electing fearless leaders like Bob Brooks, who will put Democrats back in control—ensuring every American’s sacred right to vote is protected, expanded, and never threatened.
