Jonathan Nez Earns National Voting Rights Organization Endorsement

The Voter Protection Project announces support for Navajo Nation Leader Jonathan Nez for Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Voter Protection Project (VPP), the nation’s largest PAC dedicated to electing voting rights champions and fighting back against voter suppression, is endorsing Jonathan Nez for Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District—a critical pickup seat recently added to the DCCC’s coveted Red to Blue target list.

“Jonathan Nez has been on the frontlines fighting to protect and expand voting access for rural and Native populations,” said Heather Grevenworth, Executive Director of The Voter Protection Project. “We are proud to endorse Jonathan’s campaign and know he will be a day-one voting rights champion. He is building the type of campaign it takes to win critical seats like AZ-02 and will be part of the margin of victory to take back the House and hold this administration accountable.”

“As voting rights are under attack across this country, I am honored to earn the support of the Voter Protection Project and am committed to standing up for safe, fair and free elections in Congress.” said Jonathan Nez, Democratic candidate for Arizona’s 2nd District. “We are building a grassroots movement across AZ-02 and in November we will make history and flip this seat.”

Last cycle, VPP supported more than 30 voting rights champions, including newly elected Senator Ruben Gallego (AZ), Senator Elissa Slotkin (MI), Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), Congresswoman Janelle Bynum (OR-05), and Congressman Josh Riley (NY-19). Without a Democratic majority in Congress, Donald Trump and his MAGA extremists will continue their relentless assault on democracy, chipping away at our most fundamental rights. That’s why VPP is laser-focused on identifying and electing fearless leaders like Jonathan Nez, who will put Democrats back in control—ensuring every American’s sacred right to vote is protected, expanded, and never threatened.
