National Voting Rights Organization Endorses Elaine Luria

The Voter Protection Project announces support for former Congresswoman and Navy Veteran Elaine Luria for Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Voter Protection Project (VPP), the nation’s largest PAC dedicated to electing voting rights champions and fighting back against voter suppression, is endorsing Elaine Luria for Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District—a chance to flip a red seat and send a proven voting rights champion back to Congress.

“Elaine Luria has a proven track record of defending our democracy and running strong campaigns in competitive districts,” said Heather Grevenworth, Executive Director of the Voter Protection Project. “We are proud to endorse Elaine Luria and look forward to being part of the strong coalition fighting to remove Rep. Jen Kiggans this fall.”

“I’m proud to earn the endorsement of the Voter Protection Project and grateful for the work they do to protect and defend our most basic and fundamental rights as American citizens. At every turn, Jen Kiggans has put Donald Trump’s agenda ahead of the people of Hampton Roads—supporting policies that slash Medicaid and veterans’ benefits, while raising prices on everything from gas and groceries to healthcare premiums and prescription drugs. VA-02 deserves a representative in Washington who puts them first and isn’t scared to stand up for working Virginians and their families.” said Former Congresswoman Elaine Luria.

Last cycle, VPP supported more than 30 voting rights champions, including newly elected Senator Ruben Gallego (AZ), Senator Elissa Slotkin (MI), Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), Congresswoman Janelle Bynum (OR-05), and Congressman Josh Riley (NY-19). Without a Democratic majority in Congress, Donald Trump and his MAGA extremists will continue their relentless assault on democracy, chipping away at our most fundamental rights. That’s why VPP is laser-focused on identifying and electing fearless leaders like Elaine Luria, who will put Democrats back in control—ensuring every American’s sacred right to vote is protected, expanded, and never threatened.
