The Voter Protection Project announces support for small business owner, educator, and community organizer Randy Villegas for California’s 22nd Congressional District
SACRAMENTO, CA – The Voter Protection Project (VPP), the nation’s largest PAC dedicated to electing voting rights champions and fighting back against voter suppression, is endorsing Randy Villegas for California’s 22nd Congressional District—a critical pickup seat rated a top pickup opportunity for Democrats.
“Our organization’s roots were established in the Central Valley, which makes endorsing one of the Valley’s own for this critical pickup seat so meaningful to us,” said Heather Grevenworth, Executive Director of The Voter Protection Project. “As a former organizer myself, I know no one will work harder to protect and expand voting rights in D.C. than Randy Villegas.”
“I’m honored to have earned the endorsement of the Voter Protection Project, given their work to protect our fundamental rights as Americans,” said Randy Villegas, Democratic candidate for California’s 22nd District. “David Valado cast the deciding vote for the largest cut to Medicaid in history in order to give his billionaire donors a tax break. He’s also greenlit reckless tariff policies that have made everything from gas to groceries more expensive for Central Valley families. Now more than ever, we need someone who will take on corruption and corporate greed and fight for our working families.”
Last cycle, VPP supported more than 30 voting rights champions, including newly elected Senator Ruben Gallego (AZ), Senator Elissa Slotkin (MI), Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), Congresswoman Janelle Bynum (OR-05), and Congressman Josh Riley (NY-19). Without a Democratic majority in Congress, Donald Trump and his MAGA extremists will continue their relentless assault on democracy, chipping away at our most fundamental rights. That’s why VPP is laser-focused on identifying and electing fearless leaders like Randy Villegas, who will put Democrats back in control—ensuring every American’s sacred right to vote is protected, expanded, and never threatened.
