Trump administration bankrolled by Billionaires is launching an attack on grassroots donors
SACRAMENTO, CA – The Voter Protection Project (VPP), the nation’s largest PAC dedicated to electing voting rights champions, issued the following statement on President Trump’s directive to investigate the Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue:
“Let’s be clear: this has nothing to do with campaign finance reform and everything to do with fear—fear of small-dollar donors, fear of grassroots organizing, and fear of losing power,” said Heather Greven, Executive Director of VPP. “When Trump and his allies can’t win fairly, they rig the rules, bully their opponents, and try to break the system. The Voter Protection Project stands with ActBlue and with every grassroots donor who refuses to be silenced.”

The Voter Protection Project (VPP) works to confront the architects of voter suppression directly at the ballot box. VPP believes the best defense against Republican voter suppression and gerrymandering is a strong offense. Since 2019, VPP has raised over $21 million to support Democratic candidates for office at the federal and state levels that champion fair and representative elections.
