Pia Dandiya Earns National Voting Rights Organization Endorsement

The Voter Protection Project announces support for former high school principal and education policy leader Pia Dandiya for Florida’s 22nd Congressional District

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Voter Protection Project (VPP), the nation’s largest PAC dedicated to electing voting rights champions and fighting back against voter suppression, is endorsing Pia Dandiya for Florida’s 22nd Congressional District—a critical pickup opportunity included in the DCCC’s Red to Blue program.

“Pia Dandiya is building a strong coalition to flip this seat and deliver for her community,” said Heather Grevenworth, Executive Director of The Voter Protection Project. “We are honored to join that coalition and endorse her candidacy for Florida’s 22nd District. Her passion for making an impact on young lives through education advocacy and policy is palpable, and we know she will be a fierce advocate for every American’s sacred right to vote.”

“Democracy works best when every person has a voice and every community has a seat at the table,” said Pia Dandiya, Democratic candidate for Florida’s 22nd District. “As an educator and public servant, I’ve spent my career creating opportunities for people to shape their own futures. I’m proud to have the Voter Protection Project standing with us in this fight. Together, we’ll protect every Floridian’s freedom to make their voice heard and build a government that works for the people—not the powerful.”

Last cycle, VPP supported more than 30 voting rights champions, including newly elected Senator Ruben Gallego (AZ), Senator Elissa Slotkin (MI), Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), Congresswoman Janelle Bynum (OR-05), and Congressman Josh Riley (NY-19). Without a Democratic majority in Congress, Donald Trump and his MAGA extremists will continue their relentless assault on democracy, chipping away at our most fundamental rights. That’s why VPP is laser-focused on identifying and electing fearless leaders like Pia Dandiya, who will put Democrats back in control—ensuring every American’s sacred right to vote is protected, expanded, and never threatened.
